During the week, Henrik and Martin had a lot of meetings with people from Handicap International and other organizations. Below, you can read Martin’s own account. All I know is that we have to manage to get 70 bikes ready for sale within 2 weeks. We have a deal with Brendon which runs a big dairy farm close by. The idea is for him to put a loan up for his employees, for a bike, which they can pay off with their income, in small rates.

What an amazing time I’ve had in Mozambique. Working here at our compound in Chimoio with my two friends and colleagues has been as fun as it has been hard work. This experience is something I think everyone working for Baisikeli should allow themselves to experience.

Last weekend I went back to the UK for the second handbuilt bike show. The level of skill displayed by the builders was phenominal and I highly encourage you to take a look a bikeradars big ol gallery for pictures, as they are far better than mine! All sorts of bicycles were on display at the show, race bikes, mountain bikes, touring bikes and fancy commutors. All built using a wealth of different materials, steel, carbon anfd titanium.

The Aarhus to Copenhagen bicycle ride will start up again this September, giving participants the unique opportunity to ride over the bridge connecting Sealand and Fyn. This bridge is normally closed to cyclists and quite extraordinarily, the danish authorities have opened it up for the event which will take place on Saturday 1st September. The route will wind around the danish countryside for 375km and pass through Odense if riders fancy a shorter route, before ploughing on to Copenhagen.

Next week sees the pro circus come to town and in an excellent display of inclusivity, Rapha will be organising 4 free rides around North Sjaelland. These rides will include free coffee stops to revive and warm the cockles of your heart.

Forleden havde jeg fornøjelsen af at deltage i Index award. Det foregik i Operaen hvor jeg sad og kiggede ned på Kronprinseparet. Det fik mig til at tænke tilbage på, da vi vandt FDB's socialøkonomiske årspris, hvor Ivan var inviteret til middag med Kronprinsessen. Her er en video optaget efter middagen.
